Why I changed to Kase Filters

As a landscape photographer I find using filters very useful. After using my present system for a decade I decided a change was necessary - the reasons being I did not like the colour cast I was getting using ND grads on long exposures, and on very long exposures, I was getting light leaks through the side of the filter holder. In cold weather when my hands were not working properly I also found I could easily cross thread the filters in the holder. Plus they could scratch and break easily.

A friend told me about Kase Filters and when I did some research I discovered that many photographers were now using Kase and were very satisfied with them. They ticked the boxes for me - there was no colour cast, they use an innovative magnetic holder and magnetic filters which are so easy to stack, and they stack tightly so there are no light leaks. This system is less fiddly than threading filters through a holder, and it means you can put filters on and off wearing gloves or even using one hand. They are scratch resistant and do not break easily.

The only negative factor was the cost, but like all quality products you get what you pay for. Their customer services support was excellent and they advised me which system to get. I bought the Kase Armour 100mm entry system, plus added a few more filters. It came beautifully packaged, it looked very professional and was easy to set up. It comes with a filter bag and a plastic cap to place over the filters when on the lens.

So far I am enjoying the new filter system, and am very pleased I made the switch.
